General FAQs
-
What does a holistic nutritionist do?
A holistic nutritionist looks at your whole body — hormones, digestion, mental health, and lifestyle — to uncover root causes of symptoms and support healing with food, herbs, and lifestyle shifts.
-
What is functional testing and how is it different from regular lab work?
Functional testing looks deeper than standard bloodwork. It helps uncover the root causes of symptoms by assessing things like mineral levels, gut health, adrenal stress, and immune response. Unlike conventional labs that often say you’re “within range,” functional tests reveal imbalances before they turn into diagnosable conditions.
-
What functional tests do you offer?
I use tools like HTMA (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis) GI-MAP (Comprehensive Stool Analysis), OATs (Organic Acid Testing) Hormone Panels, Amino Acid Profiles, Genetic testing and more.
-
What’s the best test for hormone imbalance or PMDD??
To support PMDD naturally, I often recommend GI map, amino acid profiles, or HTMA over hormone testing to get a deeper look at what’s going on that’s causing hormone imbalance.
-
What’s cycle syncing and how does it work?
Cycle syncing aligns your food, movement, and lifestyle with your menstrual phases to reduce PMS, support your hormones and boost energy. I offer personalized guides and the cycle chef app to make it easy.
-
Do I need to do testing to work with you?
Nope! I recognize functional labs are pricey and not in everyone’s budget. A big part of my mission is accessibility and I’ve successfully helped women heal their gut issues, PMS and acne without labs.

HAIR TISSUE MINERAL ANALYSIS
what is it?
HTMA (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis) is a lab test that measures the mineral and metal levels stored in your hair over the past 2–3 months. It gives insight into your body's stress response, thyroid function, adrenal activity, and detox pathways.
How is it different from blood labs?
HTMA will show us imbalances sometimes before symptoms manifest. This is a picture of cellular level health over a 3 month period. Blood labs show us a single moment snapshot of your bodies best output.
WHat will my HTMA tell me?
Your metabolic type: Slow or fast metabolism (oxidation rate)
Nervous system imbalances (anxiety, fatigue, burnout)
Copper dysregulation or estrogen dominance
Adrenal or thyroid sluggishness (even when bloodwork is “normal”)
Mineral deficiencies from stress, gut issues, or medications
Heavy metal retention (mercury, aluminum, lead, etc.)
Why supplements may not be working
Detox and drainage blocks
How is it useful?
Minerals are the spark plugs to our bodies. Involved in almost all enzyme reactions, metabolic activity, and detoxification cycles. Improper mineral balance affects energy, digestion, metabolism, menstrual cycles and disorders, mood and skin conditions.
THE PROCESS
1. Purchase an HTMA package
2. Fill out an intake form, book your first consult and get your welcome package
3. Receive your HTMA kit, follow collection instructions and send to the lab
4. Results are interpreted by Hailey and your protocol is created - listen to Hailey geek out (break it all down in clear, digestible terms) in a 90 minute game plan call.
5. Three months of support and healing starts
6. Feel your best and wonder why you didn't start sooner
can i buy an HTMA without a protocol?
I do not offer HTMAs as a stand alone without working with me. MANY practitioners do and I personally believe it to be wrong. I’ve had clients come to me after $$$$$ in testing and interpretations but no support or guidance on where to go. I get it - lifes expensive but saving on the protocol and 1:1 support will cost you more in the long run. HTMAs wrongly interpreted can be dangerous. I offer sliding scale and do my best to keep prices as affordable as possible. Your health is your best investment.
